Indian bowlers sweat it out at nets
New Delhi: Since their bowling has not been up to mark, India coach Gary Kirsten on Tuesday made his bowlers, specially pacers, work hard during the practice session ahead of their Group B match against the Netherlands here on Wednesday.
Delhi fast bowler Ashish Nehra was given special attention by the coach. Nehra, who has missed all the three matches so far against Bangladesh, England and Ireland due to back spasms, is expected to play on Wednesday.
Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, S Sreesanth and Yusuf Pathan practiced under the watchful eyes of skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Kirsten.
Zaheer joined his teammates at the bowling end after doing some stretching exercises.
The two-hour session in the evening started with Kirsten`s wards playing football for half-an-hour before switching gears to more serious job even as the Men in Blue seemed relaxed.
With issue related to injuries more or less sorted out, Indian players mostly indulged in recreational activities with off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and pacer S Sreesanth taking some time off to play football with Kirsten`s son Joshua.
The Men in Blue yet again did a Usain Bolt dance, much to the delight of shutterbugs, during the session at Feroze Shah Kotla ground.
All the main batsmen including openers Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar and middle-order batters Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan and skipper Dhoni went through the paces and looked at ease.
The Netherlands had a net session in the afternoon.
