David Hussey will captain Punjab today and Shaun Marsh is the replacement for Adam Gilchrist. Mumbai Indians have finally found an explosive opener in Dwayne Smith who has got them to some good starts in the last couple of matches. Things have worked out pretty well for Mumbai ever since the team management decided to drop Ricky Ponting and Rohit Sharma was handed over the captaincy. Mumbai have won two consecutive matches since then. Lasith Malinga and Mitchell Johnson displayed one of the finest spells of seam bowling in the previous match against Royal Challengers Bangalore and even the spinners have lived up to the expectations. Punjab on the other hand have had a mixed season so far and their major concern continues to be the form of their skipper Adam Gilchrist. The left-hander has managed to score just 94 runs from eight matches and his form at the top of the order has made the job extremely tough for the middle-order batsman. Azhar Mahmood who had a terrific 2012 hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations and as Punjab continue to struggle with a feeble Indian contingent, team management would want players like David Miller, Ryan Harris to put up with a formidable show.
