There was an appeal for caught behind off the fourth ball but the ball didn’t carry to the keeper. Balaji made another appeal for lbw off the fifth ball but umpire Dharmsena wasn’t interested. And Balaji begins with a maiden! ==================================================================================== TOSS: Rohit Sharma has the won the toss and Mumbai will bat first. Kolkata Knight Riders have lost seven out of 11 matches and need to win every match from here onwards. After scoring a few good knocks initially, Gambhir has been struggling with the bat. He scored 59, 53, 60 against Bangalore, Hyderabad and Punjab and since hasn’t score a 30 plus score in six matches. KKR won their last game against Rajasthan at the Eden Gardens where a slow track worked in their favour. Sunil Narine hasn’t managed to bother the batsmen ever since he picked a hat-trick against the Kings XI Punjab. Mumbai Indians on the other hand would be high on confidence after they defeated two-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings in a low-scoring game. Mumbai are currently looking like a balanced squad as they have a formidable spin duo in Harbhajan and Ojha while Malinga and Johnson have done pretty well throughout the series. Johnson in particular has been in incredible form as he dismissed three batsmen in his second over against Chennai which proved to be the turning point of the game. Tendulkar’s form is a matter of concern for the Sharma-led side and only if the Little Master can make some significant contribution with the bat, Mumbai can become a serious contender for the semis.
