Sachin declared fit for match against Kings XI Punjab

Dharamsala: Senior batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been declared fit and may play in Mumbai Indians` IPL match against Kings XI Punjab here on Saturday.

Tendulkar missed his side`s last match against Rajasthan Royals due to a sprain on his left hand.

"Sachin has recovered from the injury and is fit now, he may play tomorrow at Dharamsala," said Anil Kumble, Mumbai Indians` chief mentor.

Fans visiting the HPCA stadium here today saw Tendulkar train.

"We are not taking Kings lightly. Rohit (Sharma) is doing his leading job very efficiently. He is smart, very cool and young," Kumble said.

He said that the sheer depth of knowledge makes Ricky Ponting a very important player for the side.

Kumble said the wicket here is helping the pacers, so the team will keep it in mind while making the combination.

He said local boy Rishi Dhawan has got the talent and is in the list of probables for tomorrow`s match.

"We will be happy if he plays tomorrow in his home ground."

Mumbai Indians, who have qualified for the Pepsi IPL playoffs, missed Tendulkar`s service for Wednesday`s last home game against Rajasthan Royals.

Tendulkar sprained his hand when hitting a six in MI`s come-from-behind victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad and retired hurt after making an unbeaten 38 in 31 balls.

Tendulkar has scored 287 runs from the 14 games he played so far this season, with 54 as his best effort.
