New Delhi: Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has been ruled of the forthcoming ICC World Cup due to a injury, according to few media reports.
It's a big blow for Pakistan as Hafeez is one of their premier players for the mega event, which is starting within a week's time.
According to a report in dunyanews.tv, Hafeez, who has been nursing his knee injury, won't be able to play the entire edition of the 11th World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
And if the reports stand true, then Pakistan will have to name a replacement for Hafeez which would required approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
However, there is still no official announcement on Hafeez's injury or unavailability by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Earlier, doctors had advised Hafeez to rest for three weeks, due to which he had missed his bowling action test.
It would be the second casualty for Pakistan team as they have already lost their fast-bowler Junaid Khan due to an injury. He has been replaced by Rahat Ali in their 15-man World Cup squad.
