Chester-le-Street: Fans will have to wait further to see master blaster Sachin Tendulkar scoring the 100th ton as he opted out of the first ODI match against England on Saturday.
Captain MS Dhoni said that Sachin is suffering from a toe-injury. “Sachin is not fit for this game. He has some problems with his feet, can`t do much about it,” he said.
The news came as a huge blow for the already depleted Indian side and raised doubts on his availability for the entire series.
Apparently, he has been playing with a long standing toe-injury for the past few years and that has got inflamed now. He has a swollen toe now, and will consult a surgeon on Monday.
Meanwhile, England won the toss for the first one-day international against India and elected to bowl first at Chester-le-Street on Saturday.
