Adelaide: Australian captain Michael Clarke will be missing Friday’s ODI against Sri Lanka in Sydney due to a hamstring strain that he suffered against India on Sunday.
“I have a grade one hamstring strain so will be out of Fridays game vs SL but hopefully be back for Sun against India in Bris. Good news.” Clarke posted on his twitter account on Monday.
Skipper Michael Clarke hurt his hamstring while fielding in the Adelaide ODI on Sunday which his side lost by four wickets.
He underwent a scan on Monday that revealed grade one hamstring strain that means he will be skipping Australia’s next ODI on Friday but hopefully return for the Sunday’s fixture against India.
The development means Australia have postponed the naming of their squad for the remaining ODIs of the tri-series to Tuesday.
An acting captain would also be named on Tuesday.
