Bangalore corporators demand 450 passes for each IPL match! Zeenews Sports Bureau

Bangalore: It seems that Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike corporators are more interested in watching cricket than dealing with the basic civic issues.

A report in a leading Bangalore daily says that the civic authority is pressuring Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to provide 450 passes for each match of the IPL 2012 season to be played at Chinnaswamy stadium for their 198 corporators.

Commenting on the situation, Mayor Sharadamma said if KSCA fails to provide the passes then appropriate action would be taken on it with the possibility of imposing additional taxes.

“I had sent a messenger to KSCA. They have to give us 450 passes as every corporator would love to watch each match with his or her family. I won`t settle for 250 passes. If we are denied passes, we will decide on the possible action to be taken,” Mayor Sharadamma was quoted as saying by the daily.

This is a clear cut case of corruption, extortion and abuse of public office. The mayor and all corporators supporting this demand should be put behind bars.
