IPL rave party row: Four cricketers had left the party before raid

Mumbai: The organiser of the rave party, Vishesh Vijay Handa has been arrested under the Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

"Handa, organiser of the rave party and director of Oakwood Premier Hotel, has been arrested under NDPS Act... as charas and cocaine were found at the venue. He has been booked under the Act," said a police officer.

The police on Sunday night busted a high-profile rave party at Oakwood hotel in Juhu, Mumbai. Those found in possession of drugs will be presented before Andheri court on Monday.

According to sources, four more cricketers had already left the party before the police raid.

As per reports, invitation to the party were sent through social networking site, Facebook.

Two cricketers from the Indian Premier League were among the 100 people who were detained on Sunday evening by the Mumbai police

The cricketers have been identified as Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell, both of them represent IPL franchise Pune Warriors.

They were later released on bonds along with others.

The cops raided the Oakwood hotel at around 8:30 pm and 100 people, mostly foreign national were taken to the Cooper hotel where they gave their blood and urine samples which would determine the kind of drugs which were being consumed.

110 grams of cocaine and drugs like Ecstasy were seized from the spot.
