New Delhi: Lanky pacer Ishant Sharma, who underwent an ankle surgery earlier this month, has been ruled out of IPL 5.
For the past 12 months, Ishant had been delaying the surgery but decided upon having it after returning home from the Australian tour in January.
Sharma, who plays for Deccan Chargers in IPL, will need at least six months to recuperate and that effectively puts him out of contention from taking part in any cricketing activity.
It has been learnt that the Delhi lad was considering postponing the surgery further due to IPL but decided against it as he wanted to get fit before the home series against England later this year.
