New Delhi: He has led his team Pune Warriors successfully in the 5th edition of the IPL so far but Sourav Ganguly is not looking like a batsman in form. Runs continue to elude the former Indian captain in the IPL 5.
But the Bengal Tiger is optimistic about getting back to the old touch and be among the runs very soon. "T20 is a format where you will have to take a few chances... I think it`s a matter of time before I get the runs," Ganguly told TOI.
Asked about the reason behind his decision to demote himself in the batting order, Ganguly said, “(Robin) Uthappa and (Jesse) Ryder have done well at the top. The left-right combination helps."
Ganguly has so far scored only 61 runs from 5 matches he played for Pune Warriors. At 39, he looks to be terribly out of touch so far. It’s really interesting to see how Ganguly the batsman performs in the remaining matches of the IPL 5.
But knowing Dada’s uncanny knack of surprising all and sundry don’t be surprised if he plays some blinders in the coming days.
