Kolkata: In a shortened 12-over-game, Delhi Daredevils beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets at the Eden Gardens. The game was shortened as a result of heavy showers and breeze during the time of the toss.

12:29 pm 12th Over Pathan finished it off in style as Pathan scored a boundary of the first bowl by Bhatia. Delhi Daredevils win by 8 wickets! Pathan remains unbeaten on 42 balls (20b)
12:26 pm 11th Over Pathan became unstoppable as he hit Yusuf inside out for a boundary. Two runs needed of the last over. DD 95/2
12:22 pm 10th Over Pathan played the shot of the match as he pulled de Lange for six of the first ball. He once again played a great stroke for six. Pathan has turned the tide once again as the over yielded 17 runs. DD 87/2

11:42 pm 1st Over As expected Brett Lee bowled the first over as Sehwag and Finch did not show any signs of batting under pressure. They sensibly played the over and scored 5 runs from it. DD 05/0

The star-studded batting lineup of Kolkata Knight Riders could not even score 100 runs. Morne Morkel bowled brilliantly to pick up 3 wickets and it was his first spell from where KKR went on back foot and then could not recover from there. Gambhir would be expecting Brett Lee for similar kind of spell.
11:29 pm 12th over DOUBLE WICKET OVER!!! Merwe saw Bhatia coming down the track and bowled a full length delivery and the batsman was stumped! Lee hit the fourth ball over the bowlers head for a flat six! The last bowl was a Yorker and Lee was run-out as he tried to come back for a second run. KKR 97/9 at the end of 12 overs
11:24 pm 11th over OUT!!! With just two overs remaining, Shukla unsuccessfully tried to clear the deep-midwicket boundary and was caught by Yogesh Nagar. It was a brilliant over bowled by Umesh Yadav as he gave away just three runs and picked up a crucial wicket of Shukla who was looking dangerous. KKR 88/7
11:19 pm 10th over Shukla continued to punish lose deliveries as he scored a six of the first ball by Nadeem. Bhatia and Shukla sensibly played the rest of the over without any further loss. KKR 85/6
11: 16 pm 9th over Merwe came back into the attack as Shukla made the most of the second ball and sent it for the maximum over long-off! Shukla scored two runs from the next ball and then scored a boundary with a late cut. KKR 75/6
11:12 pm 8th over Shahbaz Nadeem bowled a quite over as Shukla and Rajat Bhatia were able to score just 6 runs from it. KKR 62/6.
11:06 PM 7th over DOUBLE WICKET OVER!! Sehwag brought Morne back into the attack and he was welcomed by a six over long- on by Das which was applauded by the crowd. But Morne Morkel made a brilliant comeback as he bowled Gambhir of the fourth ball. Laxmi Ratan Shukla got off the mark immediately but Debabrata Das was run-out as he tried to come back for the second run. KKR 55/6
11:02 PM 6th over Dropped! Umesh Yadav who had just picked a wicket for his side dropped a catch of the bowling of Glenn Maxwell. The catch was low but it carried. Yadav tried to compensate for the catch with a brilliant piece of fielding by saving a boundary of the next ball. Debabrata Das smacked the last ball for a six. KKR 56/4
10:59 pm 5th over Morne Morkel continued to bowl at express pace as KKR had a tough time scoring against him. KKR 34/4
10: 53 PM 4th over OUT!!! Big Wicket! Yusuf Pathan tried to duck a length ball and was out for a duck of Umesh Yadav! KKR in huge trouble as they have lost their top four batsmen for just 34 runs. The skipper is standing at one end watching his team-mates depart one by one. KKR 31/4
3rd over DOUBLE WICKET OVER!! Morkel bowled his team-mate Kallis (4) of the fourth ball. Morne Morkel was on fire as he also bowled Manoj Tiwary (0) of the very next ball. He was on a hat-trick as KKR lost their 3rd wicket for just 20 runs. Morkel was however denied a hat-trick as a wayward delivery went for 4 leg byes of the last bowl of his over.
10:43 pm 2nd over OUT!!! Van Der Merwe bowled the second over; McCullum continued to attack as he scored a boundary of the second ball in deep square-leg. He tried to play a similar short of the fourth ball but was trapped before the wicket. McCullum was out for 9 runs as skipper Gambhir came to bat in. Merwe gave six runs in the over and picked up the wicket of explosive Kiwi batsman. KKR 15/1
10:38 pm 1st over Pathan began the proceedings for Delhi Daredevils. Nathan McCullum charged down the track of the second ball and cracked a boundary over. A single was taken of the third ball that brought Jacques Kallis on the crease. As Pathan continued to swing the ball on both sides, Kallis carefully defended two balls and the flicked the last one for four. KKR 09/0

10:15 pm: TOSS Sehwag has won the toss and decided to bowl first.
10:07 pm: Finally some good news. The match is going to start at 10:30 and it will be a 12-over-game. The toss will take place in a while.
9:57 pm: Kolkata players Brett Lee, Jacques Kallis are on the field with other team-mates warming up.
9:53 pm: According to the latest news, a ten over match is possible if the match begins by 10:45 pm.
9:47 pm: The covers have been removed and the umpires are on the ground for inspection.
9:12 pm: The umpires are hopeful and have said that the 50 percent of the ground is still covered which has huge amount of water on it. They will inspect the ground once the covers are removed.
A result is possible if the water is removed by 11:20. Any delay after that and the match will be called off. The umpires however said that the good thing is that the covers have been removed from the wicket and it looks fine. A match of minimum 5 over is possible only if the water is cleared by the allotted time.
8:30 pm: Some good news. The rain has stopped and the ground staff is in action. Super Sopper is being used to clear water from the covers.
