MI begin camp in a low key mannerMumbai: With several key members of the squad, including skipper Sachin Tendulkar, not available, as they are playing elsewhere, Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians commenced their training-cum-conditioning camp for season-V of the T20 League on Tuesday in a low-key manner.

Tendulkar, who reached the unprecedented and much-awaited landmark of 100 international hundreds in the ongoing Asia Cup in Bangladesh three days ago, is expected to join his MI teammates, once he returns home from India`s current assignment. The MI camp started at the Wankhede Stadium without Tendulkar and two other leading players - Harbhajan Singh and Munaf Patel.

The last two were busy turning out for their respective zonal sides in the Deodhar Trophy tournament`s final at Dharamsala.

Coach Robin Singh, assistant coach Paras Mhambrey and newly-joined bowling coach Maninder Singh were present, as the MI squad members went through their paces for three hours to begin their preparations for IPL 5, commencing on April 4.

Mentor Shaun Pollock and fielding coach Jonty Rhodes are scheduled to arrive tonight from South Africa, team sources said. MI had finished runner-up to Chennai Super Kings last season, before clinching the Champions T20 League later.

The match between last year`s finalists at Chennai`s M A Chidambaram Stadium would kick off the T20 tournament, which runs up to May 27.
