New Delhi: A bookie has claimed that he paid Rs 10 crore to a Sri Lankan cricketer to fix a match. He also alleged that some Indian cricketers are also involved in match-fixing.
He was arrested by Mumbai crime branch a few days back. The crime branch claimed that he was part of an international cricket betting syndicate.
"We had information that the gang was accepting bets on the IPL matches. Based on the information, we have arrested them. The gang is well-organised with having all the betting assessment software with them which helps them in managing their betting business" TOI quoted Deven Bharti, additional commissioner of police as saying.
