7:08 pm Over 10: Out! And it’s three wickets for Balaji in three overs! Mayank Agarwal charged down the track only to lob a simple catch to Gambhir at extra cover. Gambhir looks all charged up!

RCB captain Daniel Vettori, however, struck two boundaries off the over. RCB looking in deep-deep trouble.

FYI Shakib al Hasan dropped Tiwary in the deep-- a straightforward chance it was in the last over of the over. 10 runs from the over.

7:03 pm Over 9: Another decent over from Rajat Bhatia. Just five runs from it.

6:57 pm Over 8: Out! What a peach of a delivery! La Balaji angled one pitched it on off and AB de Villiers thought of blocking it. The ball instead straightened dodging the bat to crash on the stumps. RCB on trouble! Four runs and a wicket from the over.

6:22 pm Over 1: Upper Cut from Pujara! Brett Lee bpwls a short one and Pujara just bends down, uses the pace of the delivery to guide it above the slip cordon for a six.

KKR innings

KKR set RCB 166 runs to win at Bangalore on Tuesday.

Kolkata Knight Riders were sailing through after a blistering start from their openers Gautam Gambhir and Jacques Kallis. KKR were 92/1 after the end of 10 overs and were looking set for a huge total. However the sequence of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5—runs scored by their fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eight batsmen respectively—is self-explanatory of the slide they suffered after being at 126/3. Vinay, Zaheer and Murali took two wickets each to restrict Kolkata at 165/8.

Gambhir was the top scorer with 64 runs hitting nine boundaries and a six.

Highlights from KKR innings

6:01 pm Over 20: Out! Laxmi Shukla went for a pull but was caught brilliantly by Zaheer Khan who ran miles but kept his gaze on the ball throughout. A sox from Brett Lee over long on and a four from Rajat Bhatia towards fine leg helped KKR post 165/8. The over went for 12 runs and a wicket.

5:55 pm Over 19: Out! Vinay Kumar gets his second wicket in Shakib Al Hasan who wanted to hit one over long on but mishit towards long off to be caught by Pujara. Seventh wickets fall and just three runs from the over. What a comeback from RCB!

5:51 pm Over 18: Out! Murali strikes for RCB and Ryan ten Doeschate is caught at short fine leg. KKR are witnessing a spectacular fall after being 125/2 at one stage. Eight runs and a wicket from the over.

5:47 pm Over 17: Out! Double wicket over from Zaheer Khan! Zaheer finally strikes in his final over of the match and it’s KKR captain Gautam Gambhir who becomes his 50th victim in IPL cricket. Gambhir tried to be cheeky their trying to guide the ball past third m,an boundary uusing the back of his bat but the ball ended in the hands of Patel. Manoj Tiwary followed his captain to the hut becoming Khan’s second victim. He was caught at deep square leg. Three runs and two wickets from the over as KKR lost their five wickets.

5:37 pm Over 16: It did not begin well for Harshal Patel as he fell on the pitch after twisting his ankle while running in for his first delivery. However, he managed to bowl the entire over conceding only six runs. There was though a certain boundary that was saved by Mohd. Kaif.

5: 30 pm Over 15: Out! Vinay strikes in his first delivery and it’s a big fish—Yusuf Pathan. He goes without causing any significant damage. Pathan went for a cut shot but was caught easily at point by Chris Gayle. A wicket and just two runs from the over. KKR have lost three wickets.

5:24 pm Over 14: Out! Bisla fails to read Muralis’s doosra and is stumped after charging down the ground. He made 46 (29). Yusuf Pathan walks in. It was an excellent over from Murali that went for just three runs.

5: 19 pm Over 13: Gautam Gambhir completes the fastest fifty of the tournament so far. It was a tight over from Vinay Kumar until Gambhir launched his last delivery over extra cover for a boundary. Gambhir 52* (28).

5:14 pm Over 12: Bisla is blazing all guns! He charges down the ground and the ball disappears over deep midwicket for a maximum. Patel’s over has been milked for 12 runs.

5:09 pm Over 11: Now Bisla is turning the heat on RCB! Even after getting early into the shot, Bisla managed to hit Vettori for a six towards long on boundary.

5:05 Over 10: KKR are managing a boundary from each over. Murali’s over produces eight runs. Half way down the innings and KKR are 92/1.

5:02 Over 9: Bisla manages to hit a boundary from the over towards cover region. Seven runs from the over.

4:59 pm Over 8: Virat Kohli introduced into the attack and is hoisted for a huge six straight down the ground by Manvinder Bisla. The penultimate delivery was creamed for a boundary towards the cover region. 13 runs from the over.

4:55 pm Over 7: Out! Captain Daniel Vettori into the attack and gets the breakthrough for RCB removing Jacques Kallis. It was pitched on a good length and Kallis went for a cut but edged it to AB de Villiers behind the stump. Three runs and a wicket from the over.

4:47 pm Over 6: Muttiah Muralitharan introduced into the attack and Kallis spares no time dispatching his first ball for a maximum. He went down on one knee and swept it towards deep square leg for a six. Last ball of the over and Gambhir charges forward lofting it over extra cover for a boundary. 11 runs from the over.

4:44 pm: Over 5: Gambhir is really turning the heat on! He struck back to back boundaries off his Team India teammate Zaheer’s first two deliveries. The rest were worked for four singles. 12 runs from the over.

4:39 pm Over 4: Gambhir welcomed Harshal Patel with a boundary towards square leg. He dispatched one more for a boundary and followed that with a six towards deep square leg. It was an expensive over from Patel that went for 15 runs.

4:35 pm Over 3: Kallis milks two boundaries from Zaheer’s second over—one a flick towards backward square leg and the second a drive wide of mid off. Khan, however, had a chance at redemption when Kallis played one that went in air falling just in front of Vinay Kumar. Eight runs from the over.

4: 30 pm Over 2: Vinay Kumar is getting seam and movement from the pitch. He even bowled a bouncer that took Kallis by surprise. However, Gautam Gambhir charged down the ground to smash the last delivery towards cover area for a boundary. The over produced eight runs.

4:25 pm Over 1: A nice start from Zaheer Khan. He is getting movement off the pitch. He did beat Jacques Kallis on two occassions but strayed out of line in his penultimate delivery that was expertly dispatched for four towards fine leg.

4:20 pm: Players are back on the field and the match will start in a few moments. Cheers!!!

4:05 pm Apparently an explosion caused due to an electrical problem has forced the players out of the ground. Hopefully it wouldn’t be a long delay.

RCB captain Daniel Vettori won the toss and elected to bowl first against KKR on Tuesday.
