KKR Overs: 20 II Score: 153/9

Praveen Kumar to bowl the final over. Yusuf Pathan is the man on strike. Oh! The first delivery is way down the leg side and Gilly had to make a full stretched dive to stop that from reaching the boundary. The first legal delivery struck Pathan on the pad and KKR added two leg byes. The second delivery is a low full toss and Pathan hits it straight into the hands of Miller at deep midwicket. Pathan scored 13 (16b, 4X2). Sunil Narine is the new batsman in the middle. He takes a single off his first delivery. Senanayake on strike now. He misses it and sets off for a single. Praveen Kumar collects the ball and hits the stump. Third umpire adjudges it as run-out. Lakshmipathy Balaji is the new batsman in the middle. Six needed off 1 delivery now. And it's a wide. The final delivery is is way outside off and Narine misses it and KXIP have won this thriller by four runs!

Awana to bowl the penultimate over. Pathan starts it with a boundary after top edging a pull over Bisla's head. He take a single off the next and then Bhatia swings away the third delivery high over long-on for a maximum. A couple off the next and then he again deposits it over deep square leg region for a biggie! Awana cleans him up with his final delivery to add another twist in the tale! 19 runs and a wicket in the over. 11 runs needed off six deliveries. Sachithra Senanayake is the new man in the middle.

And Mahmood has trapped Das in front of the wickets! Das was looking to play an angled delivery to his leg but the ball struck him on the pad and umpire had no hesitation in raising his finger. He scored 1 (3b). Rajat Bhatia is the new man in the middle. A good over comes to an end. Five runs and a wicket from it.

Punjab are clawing their way back into the game. Parvinder Awana has clean bowled Manoj Tiwary. A short and slower one from the bowler and Tiwary goes for the pull. He misses it and the disturbs the bails. He scored 1 (7b). Debabrata Das is the new batsman at the crease. Pathan needs to fire today if KKR are to win this game. And Pathan scores a boundary to long-off. KKR need more of these today. They need 35 runs off 18 deliveries to win this game.

Gony continues. Pathan is at crease. Expect anything. He is yet to prove his worth this season. Can he sail his team to safety? Just one run from the over. This game looks set for a close finish. Time for a strategic break.

Azhar Mahmood comes back into the attack. He failed with the bat today, can he redeem himself with his bowling? Ah! Eoin Morgan! Can you set a field for him? He hops forward and uses his wrists to play his fourth delivery to deep square leg region for a boundary. Mahmood has the last laugh as he dismisses him off his final delivery after he got a leading edge that was easily caught by David Hussey. In walks Yusuf Pathan. Nine runs from the over and a wicket.

And Manpreet Singh Gony strikes! A full length delivery and Gambhir goes for a drive but ends up edging it to wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist. A good knock comes to an end. Gony is delighted with the wicket. Gambhir scored 60 (39b, 4X9). Manoj Tiwary walks in to the middle. A good over comes to an end. Just one run from it and that too thanks to a wide.

Gautam Gambhir brings up the 100-run partnership with a boundary after stepping out and playing it through covers off Chawla. Nine runs from the over including a boundary and five singles.

Gautam Gambhir has completed his 19th IPL half-century - the most by any in the tournament's history - with a couple off Gony's second delivery. Five runs from the over.

Spin in David Hussey introduced ahead of Piyush Chawla. And an expensive over from the Australian as Gambhir creams him for three consecutive boundaries. The first one over covers, the second through point while the third to fine leg region. 14 runs from the over. Gambhir looks in fine touch today.

Manpreet Gony introduced into the attack. The well-built bowler has already made an impact in the match with his batting low down the order today. Will he be able to rock KKR's batsmen as well? Time will tell. Meanwhile, Gambhir and Morgan have each scored a boundary off his first over. Gambhir employed a pull to send the ball past the fence at fine leg region while Morgan pushed his last delivery past mid-on region for four. Time for a strategic break.

Kallis was looking to hit it over covers but Mandeep Singh took a good, sharp catch to send the South African back into the dugout. Brilliant start for Punjab! In walks Eoin Morgan. Two southpaw in the middle for KKR. Gambhir gets off the mark with his and KKR's first boundary off the final delivery. Five runs and a wicket from the over.

Praveen Kumar has the new ball. Manvinder Bisla is on strike. Gautam Gambhir is at the other end. And Bisla is gone! Pitched on full length and swinging away, Bisla went for a drive. Ended up edging it to Mahmood at slip who dropped it but Gilchrist was alert and he dived forward to take complete the catch. Bisla is out for a duck. In walks Jacques Kallis. What a start for KXIP! Kallis gets off the mark with a single to backward square leg. Gambhir charged forward off the final delviery but missed it.

Kallis has been handed the ball to bowl the final over. And he cleans up Gony off his first delivery! That was dropped short and Giny went for a pull. He ended up edging it on to the stumps! He scored 42 (18b, 4X4, 6X3). Gony's cameo has helped Punjab reach a respectable score. Praveen Kumar is the new man in the middle. Kallis removes him after having him caught by Yusuf Pathan off his fourth delivery. He scored 1 (2b). Chawla scores a boundary to midwicket region off the fifth delivery. A single off the final takes the score to 157/7

Would you believe it! 23 runs from Narine's fourth over! Gony and Chawla have smoked him! Chawla began the over with a boundary over midwicket. He took a single off the next. Gony then launched him high over long-on for a maximum. He followed that with a boundary and then again scored a biggie! 150 for Punjab.

Balaji is back. And Manpreet Singh welcomes him with a pull that sails over midwicket boundary for a maximum! Off the next, he takes a couple. he goes after the third delivery and swings hard but misses it. Off the fourth delivery, he drives it straight back past the bowler for a boundary. Gony launches his final delivery to long on but a miscommunication resulted in Tiwary and Senanayake both staring at each other with the ball landing safely in between. 15 runs from the over.

Narine continues. How many wickets is he going to end up with? Still has two more overs to go. Just three runs from this third over.

Manpreet Singh Gony is the new man in the middle and he has struck two boundaries off Senanayake. The first one to third man while the next a pull to midwicket region. Senanayake made up for it by castling him off his final delivery as the ball crashed on the leg stump. Miller scored 20 (17b, 4X1). Piyush Chawla is the new batsman. 10 runs and a wicket from the over.

HAT-TRICK! Sunil Narine comes back into the attack and breaks the stand! In fact he has taken a hat-trick! The first one to depart was David Hussey who out caught-behind after attempting a cut! Mahmood was the new man in the middle but he too departed soon after getting a leading edge back to the bowler who took a simple catch. Gurkeerat Singh was cleaned up by Narine to complete his hat-trick! Terrific delivery from the West Indian to reach the milestone! 3 runs and 3 wickets in the over.

Bhatia's third delivery is short and Miller pulls it to midwicket for a boundary. 10 runs from the over including a boundary, a couple and four singles. Bhatia has completed his quota of four overs. He has returned wicketless.

Senanayake back into the attack. Eight runs from the over. Three couples and two singles. These two have added 16 runs.

Bhatia into his third over. Five singles in the over - three to Miller and two to Hussey. Good thing for KXIP is that these two are known for their big hitting especially South African David Miller. Hussey can also accelerate in no time. Punjab also have wickets in hands. They will be looking to capitalise on this.

Kallis strikes! His first delivery is a short one and Mandeep goes after it. He gets a faint edge and Mandeep collects the ball. Kallis appeals and umpire raises his finger. He scored 41 (30b, 6X4). Bhatia continues and gives away seven runs in his second over. Mandeep Singh has given Punjab a good start. A couple and five singles were scored in the over - five to Mandeep and two to Hussey.

David Hussey is the new man in the middle. Balaji's final two deliveries went for two singles. Off the first delivery, Mandeep Singh had pulled him for a boundary.

Balaji brought back into the attack and immediately makes an impact! He has removed Manan Vohra! A short delivery from Balaji and Vohra attempts a pull. He ended up top-edging it back to the bowler. He scored 17 (16b, 4X2). Time for a strategic break.

Veteran South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis will share the new ball with Balaji. Mandeep pulls his third delivery for the first boundary of the innings. Two more singles in the over take the Punjab total to seven for no loss.

Adam Gilchrist and Mandeep Singh have walked to the middle. Lakshmipathy Balaji will start the proceedings for KKR. Facing him is Gilchrist. And Punjab are off to the mark as the first delivery from Balaji is a wide. The next six deliveries are negotiated safely without any run. Thought Gilly slashed hard at a wide delivery but it went straight to the fielder.

TOSS: Kolkata Knight Riders have won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Having slumped to two successive defeats, Kings XI Punjab will be hoping to revive their fortune when they take on defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 6 match in Mohali today.

Lacklustre Kings XI Punjab would be looking to exploit the home conditions against a strong Kolkata outfit, who got back to winning ways, outplaying Sunrisers Hyderabad by 48 runs yesterday at their home ground.
