==============================================================

TOSS: RCB have won the toss and Virat Kohli decided to bowl first.

The Chinnaswamy Stadium is expected to be jam packed for today`s match, as Royal Challengers Bangalore take on in-form Kings XI Punjab on their home ground.

It is a ground where Chris Gayle played some breathtaking innings last year and despite being in poor form this season thus far, all eyes would be on him to get his side to a rollicking start. A lot is expected from AB de Villiers now, ever since he played that 89-run knock, and single-handedly won the match for RCB against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The concern for the team management would be the individual forms of Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh. Both these veteran Indian cricketers need to pull up their socks, and the local crowd would be expecting lots of fireworks from them.

Bowling has been a concern for RCB right through this season, and they have nobody who has performed on a consistent basis. Mitchell Starc has taken some brilliant catches this season, and the onus will be once again on him to get early breakthroughs for the team. The major task ahead of Bangalore bowlers is to stop Glenn Maxwell, who has ripped apart the best of the bowling line-ups this season. The Australian missed out on four centuries by close margins, and he would be keen to slam atleast one, before this season ends.

Kings XI Punjab once again stamped their authority as the best team of this season by defeating the mighty Chennai Super Kings for the second time in the tournament. Glenn Maxwell and David Miller continued their good form, but what was pleasing to see was Bailey`s blinder (40 off 13 balls), which took them to a mammoth score of 231.

Even though they don`t have a spinner who is as threatening as Sunil Narine or Pravin Tambe, Punjab have a bunch of pacers, both from India and overseas, who have defended paltry totals for their teams every now and then. Sandeep Sharma and Rishi Dhawan have been some of the best from the Indian lot we have seen this season, and even though Mitchell Johnson hasn`t made life miserable for the batsmen, the Australian speedster has chipped in with significant contributions every now and then.
