Within a few minutes from now, the 20th match of Indian Premier League`s seventh edition will kick start, in which Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad will be up against each other at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. It`s the last match of the IPL-7 in UAE.
Both the teams – MI and SRH – are the bottom two teams at the point tally. The defending champions, MI, are right at eighth position, as they haven`t won a single match so far out of the four they have played in this edition. It would be the last chance for Mumbai franchise to win a match in the first leg of the edition, before the action shifts to India.
It`s a golden chance for MI to end their win-less streak, as Hyderabad franchise too are struggling to get their house in order.
Though, Mumbai have a solid batting line up, with having batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Mike Hussey, Corey Anderson and Kieron Pollard at their disposal, but they have failed to fire in unison. In today`s game, Mumbai need all these big hitters to contribute if they want to end their winless-streak. When it come to bowling department, Sri Lankan slinger, Lasith Malinga has been performing exceptionally well but even he needs the help of two experienced Indian bowlers, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh, to turn the tables around. MI`s need their batsmen and bowlers to lift their performance to outclass Hyderabad.
When it come to Sunrisers Hyderabad, their skipper Shikhar Dhawan has struggled to score runs so far. At the top of the order, he needs to score runs to provide his team some a solid start. The other two top order batsmen, Aaron Finch and David Warner are among runs, but it`s high time skipper should lead the team by examples. The middle-order, with the likes of Lokesh Rahul, Y Venugopal Rao and Darren Sammy, also need to play key roles.
SRH bowlers, specially speedsters, have performed well so far. Dale Steyn and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been pretty consistent, whereas, leg-spinners Karn Sharma has also been decent. Amit Mishra, who impressed everyone with his variations during the World T20 2014, has to pull up his socks a bit to give the batsmen a difficult time in the middle.
In today`s encounter, where Mumbai will look to win their maiden match of the edition, SRH will try to end the Dubai-leg on a winning note.
Mumbai Indians: Rohit Sharma (C), Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard, Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu, Michael Hussey, Zaheer Khan, Pragyan Ojha, Corey Anderson, Josh Hazlewood, CM Gautam, Aditya Tare, Apoorv Wankhade, Marchant de Lange, Krishmar Santokie, Ben Dunk, Pawan Suyal, Sushant Marathe, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Gopal, Jalaj Saxena.
Sunrisers Hyderabad: Shikhar Dhawan (c), Dale Steyn, David Warner, Darren Sammy, Amit Mishra, Aaron Finch, Irfan Pathan, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Brendan Taylor, Moises Henriques, Venugopala Rao, Jason Holder, S Aniruddha, Manprit Juneja, KL Rahul, Amit Paunikar, Naman Ojha, Ricky Bhui, Ashish Reddy, Chama Milind, Parveez Rasool, Prashanth Parameshwaran, Karn Sharma.
