Over 17 || Score 143/2
The partnership has reached 58 off 45 balls, with Dhoni contributing 38 to Faf's 18. Despite struggling with fitness, Dhoni has made it impossible for the fielding team to stem the run flow. The win, it seems, is now only a matter of formality for Chennai.
Starc conceded 10 runs in the over, which included a four, off the second ball, from Dhoni's irresistible blade. Target: 12 runs from 18 balls.

It happens. Dhoni survived a stumping chance off Yuvi as the wicket-keeper failed to hold onto the ball, which instead went for 4 byes. Dhoni was left stranded.
But the very next ball, he carted Yuvi for a six over long on boundary. Then followed it up with another six, this time over the straight boundary. After two singles, Dhoni ended the over with a four through the square leg cordon.
Thus misery piled on RCB and Yuvi. 22 runs. Another 22 required. It happened.

Yuvi tightened the screws as he completed his third over, giving away only 12 runs from the spell. His third over leaked four runs.
And the asking rate has suddenly jumped eight an over for Chennai. However, the best part for the batting side is, there is still lot many wickets to come... most of the them capable of hitting lusty shots.
Over 13 || Score 99/2
Dhoni received treatment in the middle, but the running continues. It was a good spell by Jakati as the orthodox bowler replaced Chahal. Four runs, all though singles, help Chennai reach 99. Target: 56 from 42 balls.

Lucky break for RCB. Got the wicket of Smith. The length ball Rampaul was played with equal disdained by Smith, but only to find Kohli at mid-wicket, who completed an easy catch.
This is what the fielding team needs in the moment.

Smith is on song. Has already reached 30 off just 15 balls, thanks to three fours and a six. His partner, Faf is on 22 off mere nine deliveries.
Starc's first over went for 18 runs and the duo continued to plunder the hapless looking RCB bowlers.

Third wicket for Nehra. Castled Kohli with a well directed yorker. Beautiful delivery from the veteran left-arm seamer.
Kohli b Nehra 73 (49b)
Thus Kohli's brilliant innings came to an end. The skipper has certainly put his side into respectable position, giving his bolwers a chance to fight.
Interesting stats: last four overs of the innings produced 11 runs each for the batting side.

Cricketers attempting athletics feats. They looked good nonetheless. Jadeja almost pluck one out of thin air with an acrobatic jump. But the shot from Kohli was good enough to clear mid-wicket boundary for a six.
Mohit Sharma, bowling his third over, responded beautifully with slower deliveries, resulting with a single, dot, single, single and double.
Over 18 || Score 132/5
Nehra still exudes some game. Sent back AB, who tried to clobber a straight delivery over the mid-wicket, but instead found the ball uprooting his stumps. And Nehra celebrated with some gusto, because, a ball earlier, the South African had slogged for a four over mid-wicket.
AB de Villiers b Nehra 10 (6b)
Despite the wicket-ball, the over still produced 11 runs. Arrived in the centre is Rana.
Over 17 || Score 121/4
Kohli is playing certainly one of better innings in this edition of IPL. He has raced to 53 from 41 balls. This innings will be of prime importance if RCB consider themselves beating CSK.
In between, Ashwin has completed his four overs, conceding 33 runs, and a wicket in return.
Over 16 || Score 110/4
A busy over from Jadeja witnessed Kolhi and AB running for singles and doubles. With a wide, the over yielded nine good runs.
With three four overs lefdt in the innings, they can hope to post a 150+ total, which will be a good one considering how started.

Third six for Kohli. He came down the pitch, picked the ball at the pitch and lofted it over the long-off boundary. He has reached 41 from 32 balls.
His partner in the centre is the very talented South African, simply known as AB.

Yuvi gone! Good bowling change from Dhoni as Jadeja got the dangerous south-paw in his very first over, to be precise off the last delivery.
Yuvi probably though of clearing the mid-wicket boundary and played a slog-sweep, but it landed in the waiting hands of Raina.

Another 10-run over.
Yuvi hit Raina for successive fours as his individual tally crossed 20s. In the last five overs, the dou of Yuvi and Kohli has put on 42 runs, for a 50-run partnership. If these two continue in these vein, Bangalore can hope for a decent total.

Kohli started to open-up, hit his second six, off the same bolwer – over midwicket boundary. Bearing the brunt is Ashwin.
Another ten run-over from the off-break bolwer as he was outsmarted by Kolhi.

Another very very quick over from Suresh Raina. He has completed three overs in no time. In his three overs, he has conceded 17 runs. Good stuff.
In between, both the batsmen are watching the ball ever so close, playing straight. close to the body. Feels like visiting a test venue.

A sweet, meaty blow from Kohli as the right handed batsman lofted Ashwin for a six over deep mid-wicket.
With a double and a two singles, the over yielded 10 runs for Bangalore, their best so far.
Both the batsmen are on 11 a piece.
Over 9 || Score 46/3
Raina quickly ran through an over, conceding five runs in the process. The run rate of 5.11 is certainly not the worst in T20 world, but in this rate and the fashion in which these runs are coming, Bangalore will need some herculean task from their middle-order batsmen.
Over 8 || Score 41/3
Mohit continued with his accurate spell as Bangalore batsmen looked to survive the heat in the centre. Chennai fielders are backing up their bowlers to the hilt, diving, saving runs.
Yet another good over from Mohit. Two from the over.

Perfect time to introduce part-time bowler in Suresh Raina. The off-break bowler quickly completed his first essay, giving away only five runs.
Yuvi and Kohli have faced nine balls together and scored a grand total of five runs. To resurrect the innings, they will need to survive at least for some time.

Two wickets in two overs made Bangalore innings an ugly one. Mohit Sharma took his 19th wicket of the tournament thanks to a blind shot from Zol. Straight deliveries always do justice to the bowlers.

MS Dhoni's tactics to bring back Nehra has paid rich dividends and the left-arm seamer removed Rossouw in the first over itself.
Rossouw b Nehra 1 (4b)
With the wicket, two youngsters Zol and Takawale are in the centre for the home team.
RCB XI: Zol, Takawale (wk), Kohli (capt.), Yuvraj Singh, AB de Villiers, Rossouw, Starc, Rana, Chahal, Rampaul, Jakati
CSK XI: Smith, F du Plessis, Surresh Raina, Hussey, MS Dhoni (capt. & wk), Jadeja, Manhas, Ashwin, Mohit Sharma, Badree, Nehra
News from the centre is, Badree and Nehra are in for Hastings and Negi respectively for CSK. For RCB, Gayle, Muralitharan, Dinda and Nechim made way for Rampaul, Rossouw, Zol and Jakati respectively.
TOSS: MS Dhoni won the toss for CSK, has asked RCB to bat first in Bangalore.
After failing to crack the Kolkata code in their previous match, ousted RCB face another gruelling battle when they take on a desperate looking Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in an IPL match within few minutes from now, in the first encounter of the day.
RCB look the best on paper but those big names have failed to click as an unit and have had a poor campaign in this edition of the IPL. On the other hand is a Chennai side who qualified for the play-offs but have lost three matches on the trot and risk themselves in sealing the second spot.
CSK have been shabby with the ball and would want to come good against a power packed RCB batting line-up. The MSD led side will hope for a good innings from in-form Suresh Raina once again and will expect opener Dwayne Smith to come good.
Bangalore won the last tie between these two sides and will look to complete the double.Expect plenty of action from both the sides as CSK go into this one as favourites.
