Not taking Sunrisers lightly, says KXIP skipper Bailey

Hyderabad: Table-toppers Kings XI Punjab skipper George Bailey today cautioned his players against complacency as they prepare to lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL here tomorrow.

"I think they have got a very strong side, I don`t think they have any obvious weakness. They got a strong batting line-up and they got one of the best bowling line-ups. It is going to be a tough contest against them," he told reporters at the pre-match press conference today.

He was asked whether he felt KXIP can dominate the game against Hyderabad.

Bailey said his team continuously tries to improve and does not think it needs to do anything differently.

"Same things we worked on even after a win. Regardless of a win or loss we are always trying to get better. In the last game (KKR), we probably lost too many wickets in the middle when we tried to launch at the end we were 5 or 6 down when we would rather be 2-3 down, which made it harder to try and attack their best bowlers.

"To be honest, I don`t think we bowled too badly. They batted well. I don`t think we have to do anything too much different but we are always trying to get better," he said.

Asked if his team needed a wake-up call in the form of a defeat following successive victories, he said the team needs to perform well in every game.

"I guess any time you lose, it is a refresher that any team can beat any team. So, it is a good remainder that no matter how well you are playing, on any given day, you got to turn up and play your very best," he said.

Bailey said it is heartening to see seasoned batsman Virender Sehwag coming up with good knocks.

He also said it is challenging to play back-to-back matches and afternoon games though it is the same for all teams.

On the playing positions of Glenn Maxwell and David Miller, he said every rival team is different.

"Every team is different and for us we feel the more deliveries we make Maxwell and Miller play, the more time they can get to build their innings which is the best chance for us to get a big score," he said.
