New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore has always been known for it`s star-studded batting line up. With having players like Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and now Yuvraj Singh at their disposal, RCB have the most destructive batting line-up in the tournament. In the presence of such big names in the team, it`s highly unlikely for any less-known bowler to hog the limelight.
But, Yuzvendra Chahal, a leg spinner, came out as an exception. The Haryana bowler has been giving a tough time to the batsmen in the slam-bang version of the game. His biggest weapons is his googly, which helps him to fool even the best of the batsmen in the world. The 23-year old is not just picking up wickets but is also bowling economical spells, which is certainly the most difficult task for any bowler, especially in the shortest format.
The leggie has so far scalped 12 wickets in ten matches RCB have played this season. In fact, Chahal hasn`t conceded more than 30 runs in any of these matches, except the last match RCB played against Delhi, in which he leaked 45 runs in his stipulated four over quota and managed to scalp just one wicket.
Even after sharing stage with well-known players, the young spinner with the help of his consistent performance, not only grabbed the attention of many but has become a regular feature in the team.
A former chess player, Chahal, was part of the Mumbai Franchise till last year but didn`t get enough opportunities to prove his mettle. But now the leg-spinner has been growing in stature with every passing match he is playing for RCB. So one can easily pick him as the find of 2014.
