IPL 9: Heath Streak set to be bowling coach of Gujarat Lions - Report

New Delhi: Former Zimbabwe skipper Heath Streak is reportedly all set to sign the dotted lines to become the bowling coach for newly introduced Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Gujarat Lions.

According to a report in Firstpost, the former all-rounder said that he will definitely be accepting the opportunity to be a part of the upcoming IPL season.

"It's just down to me signing the contract. It's just more of a formality now. In terms of the position that they (Gujarat) have offered to me, it's something that I will be definitely doing. It's now just a case of me sorting out the contractual issues."

For the coming two seasons of the league, Lions and Rising Pune Super Giants, have replaced suspended IPL franchises Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

After proving his mettle as an all-rounder, Streak has become a highly successful bowling coach.

After coaching national team of Zimbabwe, the 41-year-old is now successfully coaching the Bangladeshi bowlers.

According to ESPNCricinfo, Streak's contract with Bangladesh runs till June this year but it is not exclusive and the Bangladesh Cricket Board don't have problems with Streak taking over the IPL job.
