New Delhi: The Special cell of Delhi Police has arrested absconding bookie Chandresh Jain alias Jupiter in the IPL spot-fixing and betting scandal.

"The court has sent Jain for five days' police custody," S.N. Srivastava, special commissioner of police said.

However, the official did not give the exact date when Jain was arrested.

"It is the 30th arrest in the spot fixing case by Delhi Police till now," the officer said.

Chandresh had reportedly given Vindoo-Dara-Singh the task of roping in cricketers for spot-fixing IPL matches.

Delhi Police had recently named underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel in its chargesheet filed in the spot-fixing and betting scandal.

In the 6000-page long chargesheet, Delhi Police also named S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan among 39 others as accused in the scandal unearthed during IPL 6.

The police in its charge sheet said that the cricketers, including Sreesanth who spent 27 days in Tihar Jail, were in touch with the bookies who at the behest of Dawood were paying and commanding the players to underperform.
