IPL spot-fixing: Arrested bookie reveals names of more Indian cricketers involved

Mumbai: The IPL spot-fixing saga is getting murkier with each passing day. He also spoke of taking voice samples of Gurunath Meiyappan and bringing him face to face with Vindoo Dara Singh. "Union government has the power to enact law against unfair practices in sports. A-G has adviced us that though we can amend the Penal Code to incorporate new offence to deal with such practices. However, it would be better to enact a standalone legislation for unfair practices in sports," Kapil Sibal said during a press conference on Saturday on the issue of brining a law against unfair practices in sports like match-fixing. He further said that the government is committed to bringing this law as soon as possible. # Gurunath Meiyappan has been sent in Police custody till May 29. # Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath says that in wake of the massive IPL scandal, Srinivasan must resign from the post of BCCI's president. His position has become untenable. # Srinivasan has spoken to the media for the first time since the arrest of his son-in-law in the spot fixing case. He reiterated that he has no intention of resigning and won't be bulldozed into doing it. "I have done nothing wrong. I have no intention of resigning.
