Indian Premier League 2016, Match 13: KXIP vs KKR - Players to watch out for

New Delhi: Kings XI Punjab take on Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 13 of the Indian Premier League in Mohali.

The Punjab franchise will be looking for a back-to-back win against a formidable KKR side.

Despite the defeat to Mumbai Indians, Gautam Gambhir's side has looked solid so far in the tournament.

Both teams are blessed with big-hitting match winners, which makes this contest a mouth-watering one.

Fans will remember when KKR and KXIP competed against each other in one of the most memorable finals of cash-rich league in 2014.

KKR won that match in the final over, thanks to Piyush Chawla's heroics.

As they go head-to-head for the first time this season, here are some players that could change the game on its head.

Gautam Gambhir: The KKR skipper has been in fine form so far this season. With 192 runs under his belt, the left-hander leads the high-scorers list this term. In three outings, the Delhi batsman has scored 38*, 64 and 90*. While he may be out of the reckoning for national team selection, the left-hander continues to make a serious impact in the IPL. With consistency at top of the innings, Gambhir's success has enabled KKR to be a major force in the tournament in the last few years. Against KXIP, the Kolkata fans will expect more of the same from their leader.

Murali Vijay: While the Kings XI Punjab opener struggles to make the cut in India's ODI and T20I teams, there is no denying his shot-making ability in the limited-overs format. In this IPL, Vijay appears to have hit form at the right time with scores of 42, 1 and 53 in his three outings. The right-hander was part of the CSK franchise in the initial years and was among the key contributors to the success of the now suspended franchise. A good tournament will throw the Tamil Nadu batsman right in the mix for India's ODI and T20_ team selection going forward.
