New Delhi: Finally, after fighting a close battle four teams have made it to the play-offs of the Indian Premier League's eighth edition. Two teams who sealed the top two spots this time around are Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, whereas, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals finished third and fourth respectively.

Three teams, who have made it to the playoffs, have won the title at least once – RR, CSK and MI. It means Virat Kohli-led RCB would be fighting for their maiden IPL trophy.

Vijay Mallya co-owner RCB reached the finals on two occasions in the past. But both the times they couldn't manage to cross the final hurdle. First time they made it to the final was during the second edition of the cash-rich league, where they were beaten by now defunct franchise Deccan Chargers.

In 2011 they once again reached the final, but their deams shattered for the second time as they lost the final battle with CSK by 58 runs.

In the sixth edition they reached till the playoffs, but their journey ended there only.

Known for their destructive batting line up boasting names such as Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, they have the fire-power to destroy any bowling line up.

When it comes to the bowling department RCB have probably the world's best death over specialist in Mitchell Starc. To support him they have South African all-rounder David Wiese, Harshal Patel and leggie Yuzvendra Chahal.

Can they break the shackles to win the coveted title this time around, only time will tell.
