KXIP Playing XI: WP Saha (wk), M Vohra, GJ Maxwell, DA Miller, GJ Bailey (c), AR Patel, Gurkeerat Singh, R Dhawan, BE Hendricks, Anureet Singh, Sandeep Sharma

CSK Playing XI: MEK Hussey, BB McCullum, SK Raina, F du Plessis, MS Dhoni (c & wk), DJ Bravo, P Negi, RA Jadeja, R Ashwin, A Nehra, IC Pandey

Toss: George Bailey won the toss and he decided to bat first on what looks like a good batting track.

After a forgettable season, KXIP have nothing to lose in today's match, something which could prove to be their strength against CSK, who are the first team to advance to the playoffs.

Glenn Maxwell's poor form has been one of the major reasons behind Punjab's downfall this year. The Australian all-rounder, who set the tournament on fire last year with his blistering knocks, doesn't have a half-century to his name this year. Another reason why Punjab have struggled this season is due to the form of Sandeep Sharma. The youngster, who has the knack of getting early breakthroughs, has picked just 5 wickets in last nine matches.

Punjab still look like a decent team on paper and the entire squad would be desperate to leave the tournament a win. They will play against CSK with some confidence after a superb win against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a rain-curtailed encounter.

CSK, on the other hand have been a force to reckon with like any other season.

The match against Punjab could be Brendon McCullum's last match as he will join his national squad after it. The Kiwi has been a major force behind CSK's success this year and he too would want to end his campaign this season with another whirlwind knock.

While the form of Suresh Raina is a matter of concern for the team, MS Dhoni too has performed poorly as per his own standards. The bowlers have saved the team from precarious positions and once again, the team management would want them to deliver as a unit.
