New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Gautam Gambhir has said that the run-out of New Zealand all-rounder Colin Munro was the turning point of their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2016 eliminator.

In a column for Hindustan Times, the Delhi batsman said since Lions were playing with plenty of pacers, KKR's strategy was to unleash the Kiwi at them.

"With Hyderabad playing a pace-heavy bowling attack, our plan was to unleash Munro on them. He was beginning to look confident before another needless run-out hit us. I thought the New Zealander had it under control as he had called to run towards the danger end. But Yuvraj nailed him with a direct hit. I thought the game turned for us at that point," the left-hander wrote.

David Warner and his boys defeated KKR by 22 runs to reach Qualifier 2, where they will lock horns with Gujarat Lions today.
