Chandigarh: Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Kings XI Punjab by six wickets in Match 13 of the Indian Premier League at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali today.

Over 17.1 | Score 141/4 (Yadav 11*, Pathan 12*)

2 needed to win. Mohit started with a length ball and Yadav it past mid-off for the winning runs. Another clinical performance by KKR. They will be pleased with this win.

Abbott to bowl his third over. Pathan scored a couple of runs off the first ball. Second ball was short and with the Pathan power, it was drilled on the leg side for a boundary. Next ball was full and Pathan hit it past the diving fielder at mid-on for another boundary. Pathan took a single off the next ball. Yadav worked the next ball towards midwicket for a single. Next ball was a high bouncer which was called wide. Pathan hit the last ball, a low full-toss towards short midwicket for no run. 13 from the over.

Pradeep Sahu brought into the attack. Uthappa played a brilliant reverse-sweep shot past slips off the second ball for another boundary. Uthappa has been brilliant from the word go today, and these two are crusing towards KXIP's paltry total.

Andre Russell, who used to be KKR's opening and death bowler, comes to bowl his first over. Two singles came off the first two balls. Third ball was a full-toss, Marsh hammered it over the fielder at long-on to complete his fifty off 40 balls. Brilliant innings this from the Australian. Abbott played a big shot off the fifth ball and cleared long-on for a Six! Abbott hit the last ball towards deep midwicket and followed by a misfield and an overthrow, the batsmen ran three more runs. Gautam Gambhir and his boys would be keen on putting a good show against Kings XI Punjab, who would be high on confidence after winning their first match of the season in their previous outing in the tournament.

KKR have had a mixed season so far, where after winning first match against Delhi Daredevils, they suffered a six-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians. KKR bounced back in the next match where they comprehensively defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets.

Gambhir has led from the front by slamming two half-centuries in three matches for his team.

KXIP, on the other hand, won their first match of the season against Rising Pune Supergiants after being defeated by Gujarat Lions and Delhi Daredevils in consecutive matches.

Maxwell found some form for the Punjab franchise against Pune and the pressure is on skipper David Miller, who has scored just 31 runs from three matches so far.
