IPL 9: New RPS recruit Usman Khawaja wants to head back home already - Here's why!

New Delhi: A string of injuries to key players forced Rising Pune Supergiants to call in reinforcements.

Among the new players to join the squad was Australian batsman Usman Khawaja.

Interestingly, the left-hander was on the receiving end of an unexpected welcome.

Makers of Pune team's jersey printed the wrong spelling of his name, which Khawaja joked about as he took to social micro-blogging site Twitter.

Seeing the funny side of the incident, the 29-year-old said it was better if he left the tournament as Pune were expecting 'Khwaja' and not 'Khawaja'.

His Australian teammate and SunRisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner too indulged in some banter over the spelling error.

Khawaja made his IPL debut on Thursday, scoring 30 off 27 balls. His innings included 2 boundaries and a six.

RPS registered their third win of the season, beating Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
