Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli breaks Mahendra Singh Dhoni's IPL captaincy record

New Delhi: Virat Kohli currently holds the Indian Premier League's Orange Cap with a tally of 677 runs in 11 outings.

Apart from breaking records with his willow, the 27-year-old has also achieved a significant milestone as skipper of the Royal Challengers Bangalore side during the ongoing edition.

The Delhi batsman has now captained RCB in 63 successive games, going past MS Dhoni's record of 61.

Kohli is second on the list, with Gautam Gambhir leading with 87 consecutive appearances as captain.

Interestingly, Dhoni's name features twice on the list. He had two long runs with Chennai Super Kings as skipper, one lasting 59 games and the other 61.
