New Delhi: They might have had their on-field struggles but Delhi Daredevils is one set-up where the camaraderie between the Indian and overseas players is there to be seen.
The overseas players and the support staff have been getting some lessons in Hindi and they have a `new teacher` in Irfan Pathan, who is teaching them a few sentences and likes of Kevin Pietersen, David Warner and Andre Russell picked it up faster than the `doosras` bowled by Sunil Narine!
A funny 3-minute video has been uploaded in the official website of Delhi Daredevils called `www.Delhidaredevils.Com` and Irfan might soon find himself to be a sought after Hindi teacher.
Warner was grinning from ear to ear when Irfan made the explosive opener say, "Mujhe Delhi ke ladke ladkiyon se zyada pasand hain" (I like Delhi boys more than girls) although the "ladkiyan" became "lakdiyan".
Irfan made Russell propose Deepika Padukone and he seemed spot on with his pronunciation.
"Deepika main tumhare liye chand taare tod laaonga (Deepika I will bring the moon and stars for you). I love you," the Jamaican all-rounder said in a booming voice.
Poor Johan Botha didn`t know that the left-arm seamer made him propose girls for marriage.
"Mujhse shaadi karogi, please (Marry me, please)," Botha said.
Kevin Pietersen assured in hindi, "Main jaldi upaas (wapas) aaonga aur aapke liye kheloonga (I will come back very soon and play for you guys)" but skipper Mahela Jayawardene caught the wrong `un from junior Pathan.
Mahela asked Irfan that how does one say in Hindi that "I am head over heels in love with Katrina Kaif", and the Indian pacer said, "Mujhe Katrina bilkool pasand naahin hai" but the Lankan legend called the bluff midway.
However, Eric Simons had the last laugh when he used all his years of experience as Indian team`s bowling coach when he ticked off Irfan stating, "Apna kaam karo. Sirf naam hi kaafi hain (Mind your own business. The name is good enough)."
