Chennai: Saurashtra captain Jaydev Shah missed a deserving century against Vidharbha, while Karnataka`s pathetic show with the bat continued on the first day of their second round of matches in the All-India Buchi Babu Memorial cricket tournament, here on Tuesday.
In a Group-C match, Jaydev who made 99 (122b, 9x4, 4x6) and added 112 runs in 26.2 overs with Rahul Dave (50-7x4, 1x6) for the fourth wicket helped his team to make 337 for nine in their allotted 90 overs against Vidharbha.
Karnataka, who lost their first match in Group-D to Kerala, continued their poor performance as they lost all their top four batsmen after dismissing Gujarat for a total of 195 all out in 71 overs. Gujarat`s Akshar Patel claimed two for six.
