Kochi: Host Kerala enjoy a clear edge when they take on Tripura in their third Ranji Trophy Plate Group `A` match at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium on Thursday.
Kerala have collected two points from their two matches against Vidharba and Services, while Tripura come into the match after losing both their first two Group A encounters against Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
Kerala`s hopes for putting up a good total revolves around former captain and allrounder Sony Cheruvathur, fellow allrounder Raify Vincent Gomez and left-hand batsman Rohan Prem.
The bowling attack will also be led by Cheruvathur, who will be partnered by medium pacer Prasanth Parameswaran and left-arm spinner Padmanabhan Prasanth.
The visiting Tripura side will depend on batting mainstays left-hander Manisankar Murasingh, veteran wicketkeeper Vinayak Samant and Udit Patel. In the bowling department, 36-year-old veteran Timir Chanda, who has picked up 12 wickets from the two matches so far with his medium pace, leads the side.
