KKR doing well without Ganguly: SRK
New Delhi: KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan, taking a dig at Sourav Ganguly, stated that Kolkata Knight Riders are doing well without dada.
Speaking to media, he wished good luck to Sourav Ganguly who is all set to turn up for Pune Warriors on Sunday against Kolkata. Shah Rukh Khan said, “I would have liked dada back in the team (KKR)”. He stated that the team had to start afresh after dismal performances in the last three editions of IPL. “We needed to move forward”, he added.
Recently, Sourav Ganguly, came into the limelight with his signing of a contract with IPL team Pune Warriors India.
The 38-year-old refused a mentor`s role with KKR after that and there had been speculation of a possible comeback through another franchise.
The left-handed batman was first sought by Kochi Tuskers Kerala but their application was rejected by the IPL`s Governing Council.
However, he signed on the dotted line for Pune, giving a major fillip to the side which has lost six matches on the trot after starting promisingly with a couple of back-to-back wins.
Ganguly, who played for Kolkata Knight Riders for three IPL seasons captaining them in two editions, went unsold in the January players` auction despite a rather modest base price of USD 400,000.
