New Delhi: Former England star Kevin Pietersen welcomed West Indies`s big hitter Chris Gayle to the 100 club in Test matches.
Gayle will achieve this feat on Sunday at Sabina Park in Jamaica, as West Indies take on New Zealand in the first Test of the three-match series. Pietersen who played 104 Tests for England is a good friend of Gayle.

The West Indian sensation is the ninth Carribean player to play 100 Test matches. Gayle has scored 6933 runs from 99 matches at an average of 42.01 with 16 centuries and 34 fifties. He will also look to complete 7000 Test runs during the match.
Gayle was felicitated by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) with a Special Award ahead of his 100th Test. Gayle was awarded at the WICB-WIPA annual awards on Friday.
