New Delhi: Cricket Australia has cautioned one of its current leading cricketers after receiving reports of him being involved in a drug related incident last year.
The cricketer did not test positive for the drug but admitted to have taken cocaine and alcohol following which an unofficial warning was given by CA, reported a leading Australian daily.
As per reports, it happens to be the cricketers’ first offense and therefore the board is refusing to reveal his name.
"The first response to a positive test, which we haven`t had, would be in theory to work with the player in a confidential, professional and appropriate and medically focused manner," a Cricket Australia spokesperson told The Australian.
The player has received counselling and no latest reports of him being involved in any such activity have come to light since then.
