John Mayer is reportedly penning a novel.

Los Angeles: Singer John Mayer might have scripted his way to stardom through his beautiful songs but will he be able to recreate magic with his novel?In a recent post on popular micro-blogging website Twitter, Mayer has revealed plans of stepping into writer`s shoes by penning a novel.

"Just took an Ambien. 12-14 more minutes before I begin writing my novel," the `Daughters` hitmaker wrote on his Twitter page. The Grammy-award- winning singer was recently alleged to be responsible for the break-up of singer-actress Jessica Simpson and footballer Tony Romo when he found text messages from Mayer on her cell phone.
