Mumbai: With the row over Harbhajan Singh’s ‘Make It Large’ ad growing, UB Group’s chief Vijay Mallya added fuel to fire after refusing to pull the controversial advertisement that is said to hurt the sentiments of his family and community at large off air.

The liquor baron also added that his legal counsels would recommend the next course of action while rival Pernod Ricard said it had not advised Bhajji on his legal move but will support the all-rounder in the controversy that has angered a lot of Sikhs.

"It was not meant to attack Harbhajan Singh personally. It was just a spoof between two brands. We have received a long-winded legal notice and our lawyers are studying it," Mallya told a leading newspaper.

The controversy opens the debate on lampooning and tasteless puns and on where to draw the line when it comes to on screen advertisements.
