Imran is too busy for Deepa Mehta`s ‘Midnight’s Children’

Imran Khan apparently has no time for top-notch filmmaker Deepa Mehta, for he is too busy to respond to her offer to play lead role in the film adaptation of ‘Midnight’s Children’.

Mumbai, June 04: Hottie Imran Khan may be a newcomer in Bollywood, but doesn`t seem to be behaving like one. The actor apparently has no time for top-notch filmmaker Deepa Mehta, for he is too busy to respond to her offer to play lead role in the movie adaptation of ‘Midnight’s Children’.Reports reveal that both Salman Rushdie, author of novel ‘Midnight’s Children’, and Deepa Mehta strongly feel that Imran would be the perfect choice to play the protagonist, Saleem in the film. But surprisingly, Imran doesn’t seem to be interested. Grapevine has it that Deepa has been making efforts to contact Imran to proceed with the project, but the actor has not been responding. Deepa says, "Maybe he was busy or maybe he doesn`t want to work with me. Whatever the reason, we`ve a number of Indian and international options for the part. Both Salman and I felt Imran was a natural choice for the part, culturally and physically." We hope Imran knows what he’s doing!
