McCullum says Black Caps need to find way to beat Windies

Off-spinner Nathan McCullum says the beleaguered New Zealand have no choice but to win the third One-Day International at Warner Park.

Basseterre (St. Kitts): Off-spinner Nathan McCullum says the beleaguered New Zealand have no choice but to win the third One-Day International at Warner Park here.
"We`ve just got to win," McCullum said after team training here on the eve of the last match of the series Wednesday, reports Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC). "We`ve got to be determined to win and find any way possible. We`ve got to take more wickets, we`ve got to burn through their top order and see what their bottom order has got under pressure," McCullum said. "If we bat first, we`ve got to score big runs and score 100s and have big partnerships." New Zealand were completely dominated by the West Indies on the tour and have hardly looked like competing in any of the games. They lost the Twenty20 double-header in Florida two weeks ago and then followed up by losing the two opening One-Day Internationals of the five-match series at Sabina Park last week. McCullum said their focus would be getting the vital wicket of the in-form Chris Gayle. "It`s not so much about the pitch, it`s our form," said McCullum. "At the end of the day we`ve just got to get him (Gayle) out. We`ve got some plans in place we`re pretty sure are going to work. Let`s hope they do, but we`re determined to take his wicket." IANS
