Karachi: Pakistani Test and ODI captain Misbah-ul Haq has expressed his satisfaction with his team`s one-day victories over South Africa and Sri Lanka, which he termed as `special`.
Pakistan beat South Africa 2-1 last month - their first-ever one-day series win over world`s number one Test team - before clinching the Sri Lanka series 3-2 on Friday, although they lost the fifth and final match by two wickets in Abu Dhabi According to The Dawn, Misbah said the dual series win in South Africa and the recent one against Sri Lanka was satisfying and special as they ended Pakistan`s tough year on a high note, and hoped that the ODI series win over Sri Lanka would lift his team`s morale ahead of the three-Test series starting in Abu Dhabi from Tuesday. The report mentioned that the win over Sri Lanka was Pakistan`s seventh one-day series win this year- their best-ever in a calendar year- which also included a 2-1 victory against India in January. The second Test against Sri Lanka will be played in Dubai (January 4-8) and the third in Sharjah (January 16-20), the report added.
