New Delhi: Before the recently concluded Test series against Australia, two veteran Pakistani batsmen – Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan – were not sure about their future in international cricket. While Younis was upset with his contract being downgraded by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Misbah had a poor run with the bat and many believed it was time for him to hand over the captaincy to a much worthy candidate.

But the Test series against Australia brought back the momentum for these two gentlemen and Misbah (40) and Younis (36) are now looking unstoppable at the moment.

Younis, in particular, has been in stupendous form. While the UAE pitch was expected to help the Pakistani batsmen, the Aussies do have a world class attack and scoring three consecutive centuries against them is no mean feat. Younis' achivement became even more significant as he followed his two centuries with a double ton in the second Test.

On the other hand, after scoring 69 in the first Test, Misbah too got his form back and slammed back-to-back centuries in the second Test scoring 101 in each innings.

After the Aussies, it was time for the Kiwis to bear the wrath of these two batting stars. In the first Test being played between the two sides at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, Misbah (102*) and Younis (100*) stitched an unbeaten 193-run partnership for the fourth wicket, before Pakistan declared at 566-3.

While Misbah has silenced his critics who were doubting his skills with the bat as a skipper, Younis too, has made sure that the selectors contemplate over his inclusion in the ODI team, with the ICC World Cup being a few months away!
