Mohsin Khan to continue as Pak chief selector

Lahore: Mohsin Khan has decided continue as cricket Chief selector following an amicable reconciliation with the Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB).

Mohsin had a meeting with PCB chief Ijaz Butt on Thursday over his differences with the board on the players selected for the Test series against the West Indies.

"Mohsin and I had a fruitful meeting today(Thursday) and we discussed a number of matters. We also discussed some of the issues that are appearing in the media for last couple of days," the Daily Times quoted Butt, as saying following his meeting with Mohsin Khan.

"Without going into the details of the matters discussed, I am pleased to inform that there are currently no unresolved issues between PCB and Mohsin," Butt added.

Butt also informed that they discussed the importance of the role and functions of the national selection committee and he had advised Mohsin Khan that the selection committee has independence of taking selection decisions. He kept silent on the issue of disputed players.

Mohsin Khan has earlier threatened to step down following differences with PCB over the players selected for the Test series in West Indies.
