MP need 91 more runs for a win over Gujarat

Indore: Paceman TP Sudhindra completed his five-for to give Madhya Pradesh a crack for an outright win against Gujarat on the third and penultimate day of their Ranji Trophy Elite Division match on Thursday.

Sudhindra scalped four more Gujarat batsmen today to end with innings figures of 6/60 and match figures of 9/93 as the visitors were all out for 272 in their second innings at Emerald High School Ground.

Pratharesh Parmar top-scored for Gujarat with 65 and he was the ninth man out after facing 136 balls and having hit seven boundaries.

Chasing a target of 198, the home side managed 107 for four at stumps today, needing another 91 to win on the final day tomorrow with six second innings wickets in hand.

Resuming on 133 for five, only 58 ahead, Parmar guided Gujarat`s lower order, stitching together partnerships for 61 for the seventh wicket with Salil Yadav (35) and 42 for the eighth with Mehul Patel (25), before he became Sudhindra`s fifth victim.

Madhya Pradesh started slowly in the chase, losing Jalaj Saxena without scoring and Mohnish Mishra soon after, before Naman Ohja and Devendra Bundela steadied the innings. Both of them fell before close, leaving the match in balance.

Abbas Ali and Harpreet Singh were batting on 20 and 11 at stumps.
