New Delhi, July 08: Just days before its release, Bollywood movie ‘Short Kut’ got into legal wrangle as a film maker alleged the movie`s producer Anil Kapoor Film Co Pvt Ltd had lifted the title of his own proposed film.On a petition filed by one B S Bhullar, the Delhi High Court today issued notice to the film company owned by actor Anil Kapoor and sought its reply by tomorrow.
Justice Reva Khetrapal issued summons/notice to Anil Kapoor Films Co Pvt Ltd, which is releasing ‘Short Kut’ on July 10. The film stars Akshay Khanna, Arshad Warsi and Amrita Rao. Bhullar alleged he had registered the title ‘Shortcut’ with the Films Association in September 2005 and the Bollywood actor`s production company copied it in an “illegal and unauthorised" manner. In his petition, Bhullar claimed that to make his own movie he had circulated the script to Anil Kapoor and offered him to"enact and play a vital role"in it. However, Kapoor had turned down the offer and refused to act in his film. Later, he came to know from sources that Kapoor company is making a film with the same title. Bureau Report
