MS Dhoni fined Rs 450 for violating traffic rules in Ranchi

New Delhi: Indian skipper MS Dhoni, who is known for his love for bikes was on Tuesday fined Rs 450 for violating traffic rules.

Dhoni had violated the rules by affixing the front registration plates on the mudguard of one of his mobikes, which is a “technical violation”.

Traffic SP Kartik S said Dhoni was fined Rs 450 under section 122/179 of Motor Vehicle Act in the evening.

According to the Motor Vehicle Act, a vehicle should have its registration number displayed horizontally without obstruction on its rear and front (which is clearly visible).

The chalan was sent to Dhoni's house where his family paid the fine and said he did it due to ignorance.

Notably, in the year 2007, Dhoni had to a pay another fine for using dark window panes in his car.
