Mumbai Police chief opens Media Cup cricket meet

Mumbai: Mumbai Police Commissioner D Sivanandan today declared open the 8th Media Cup Cricket Tournament.

Speaking on the occasion, he said, "Mumbai Police have always been on their toes and they provided best possible security during the IPL-3 matches held at the historic Brabourne Stadium."

Sivanandan also announced to give a Police Trophy for the winning team.

Eighty-four teams of media personnel, from print to TV channels, including PTI Sports Club, will be participating in the eight-over each tournament being played at the sprawling Central Railway ground, Parel in Central Mumbai, its organiser Calvin Joshua said.
