My first focus will be on cricket: Sachin after becoming MPZeenews Sports Bureau

New Delhi: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who took oath as a Rajya Sabha member today, said that his focus will mainly be on cricket.

Talking to the reporters immediately after taking oath in the chamber of Rajya Sabha chairman Hamid Ansari, Sachin said, “My focus will definitely be on cricket,” a visibly happy Sachin said.

When asked how he would be able to discharge his dual roles of a cricketer and a parliamentarian, he said, “I did not ask for this. I was nominated. Thank you for showing faith in me and bestowing the honour. Cricket has given so many things to me. I want to give something back to cricket in the latter part of my life."

Sachin also said that he will try to give something not only to cricket but also to the other sports of the country.

“I am here because of my cricketing career. So, at this moment my priority would be cricket. I would be happy if I am remembered for contributing to all sports rather than just for my cricket statistics.”

Congratulations Sachin for starting a new innings as a parliament member. This is the right platform from where you can raise your voice for solution of various problems that the sports arena of the country faces. Best of luck.

What is great in that? Hundreds take oath. Media unnecessarily gives wightage to such fellows who waste 38 days in just taking oath. What more can any body expect from such an arrogant player? Privileges should be bestowed upon those only who actually deserve.

In my opinion, our constitution, all the leaders wha favored for Sachin to become RS member should understand that `` It is not mandatort that one person who is Good in one field will also be effective on the other field``...it is their duty to make our lives better rather than taking such biased decisions...I m totally against this...``Kindly Stop making FUN of Rajya Sabha.

If cricket is his first focus then why the fk he joined the RS. RS is for people who want to work for the country, but he also like other RS members has primary focus on earning name, fame & money and will work for the country if any time is left.

This is a bias statement from him. He is a politician now. He is from cricket arena doesnt mean he ignore other sports. I hope he will take care of other sports and their enhancement for better facilities
