Chennai: New Zealand off-spinner Nathan McCullum, who was admitted to a local hospital here on Thursday due to fever will be discharged on Saturday morning, according to team’s media manager, Ellery Tappin.
“He was running temperature and was rushed to hospital on Thursday afternoon. He is better now and advised to be under observation at the hospital till on Saturday morning, when he is expected to be discharged,” Tappin said on Friday.
“McCullum reported to the medical staff that he felt unwell and was admitted to hospital. He is feeling okay and his condition is not at all serious,” he added.
Though the cause of illness wasn’t clear, coach John Wright, who is more familiar with conditions with the Indian conditions stressed on eating healthy food in order to avoid illness.
McCullum’s availability for the Kiwi first match in the tournament on Monday against Kenya here will be decided later depending on his fitness.
